DETAILS OF DECEMBER 11 BENEFIT CONCERT

The Roeder Home has been officially re-opened for community use, but it is a challenge
to get programs restarted with no staff & no funding. For almost forty years, ordinary
people have been able to not only encounter The Arts, but discover the artist within.
We want to get classes going again. We need money to pay for rent, utilities and
other expenses in support of renewed arts programming at the Home. This concert,
along with the homemade dessert buffet offered during intermission, will raise money
for both the Roeder Home and the Broadway Youth Club.

High energy, beautiful and surprising music from some of Bellingham's finest young musicians.
Bellingham is graced with young people who are honing their skills to be superb musicians.
It is a particular pleasure to get to listen to the inventiveness, fresh viewpoints and
fearless enthusiasm they bring to their music. Styles will include Folk, Bluegrass, Classic Jazz
and Classical, and who knows quite what else.

Nakos Marker & Ben Kunish
Cornwall Park residents Nakos Marker, 17, & Ben Kunesh, 16, will collaborate with dobro and
piano. Ben studies classical piano and plays other styles for fun. Nakos has transformed
himself into a spectacular dobro player over the last few years, in styles ranging from folk to
bluegrass to "jazzgrass." They're working on a Duke Ellington arrangement, and some
classical violin/piano duets with dobro replacing the violin, and maybe something from Queen.

Lyman Lipke, Conner Helms & Kaeli Earle
Energetic young combo with bassist Lyman Lipke and saxophonist Conner Helms have been
heard at the Bellingham Farmers Market regularly for the past year, and have become
reasonably well known. Featuring Kaeli Earle on vocals, this trio is showcases outstanding high school musicians.

Selina Doran
Seventeen year old Columbia resident Selina Doran sings like an angel and plays the stuffing out of
both guitar and ukulele. Selina performed at the Fountain Park Party this summer, and for the
Cornwall Park Neighborhood Community Picnic as well. A few years ago she played a full concert,
solo, at the Roeder Home as part of the Homemade Music Society Wednesday night concert series.
Her influences include Elizabeth (Libba) Cotten, Joni Mitchell, and Rich Mullens.

Schad Russell & Lisa Russel, accompanists - more soon!
